Growing up in SoCal, my family would shop at two drug stores, Sav-On and Thrifty. Thrifty, now know as Rite Aid, still sticks to my mind via its tuneful jingle, "Everyday's A Savings Day at Thrifty"
Here's a Mother's Day Card ad from 1981:
And don't forget that wonderful summertime treat, Thrifty Ice Cream:
And here's a holiday themed ad from 1984:

RIP, Cal Worthington
A SoCal TV legend has left us recently. An owner of so many car dealerships in the west coast. On KTTV in the 1970s and 80s during a movie, his ads would become a single commercial break. Every commercial had him with playing with various animals or flying upside down on a plane. Another memorable part of these ads was the catchy jingle set to "If You're Happy And You Know It" with the phrase "Go See Cal" or infamously mistaken as Pussy Cow. Among the dealerships still operating is Worthington Ford in Long Beach.
There were also Worthington Dodge in Huntington Beach plus dealerships in Anchorage ,Alaska, Federal Way, etc.

Norton Simon Museum
Of all the local commercials I've seen, this one is one of the classics that stuck with me forever and introduced me to classical music and art. This commericial is from the later 1970s and features a young Candice Bergen, who is one of the board of trustees for the Norton Simon Museum of Art in Pasadena, CA. The public was made aware of the newly revamped museum thanks to the late Norton Simon taking over the old Pasadena Art Museum and this ad combined the museum's finest art and the music of Mozart's 40th Symphony. The music in this ad is from the 1971 single, "Mozart 40" by the late Waldo de los Rios and has a bouncy beat.

Carpeteria
I remember as a kid seeing these Carpeteria commericals back in the days of thr 80's. What made these classics were the jingles they featured like this one from 1981.
Here's another commercial from 1980 with a diffrent jingle
And finally, a rare ad from 1979, sans jingles of any kind but features the Carpeteria Genie icon:
